Part 4: Where To From Here?

1980s, you met someone who was close enough to perfect.
She is smart, she has ambitions in life and has a similar set of values to you. You love her for the person she is now and the better person she has the potential to become. You get married, buy a house, have a couple of kids, etc.

20 years later, you realise that she's actually not as smart as you thought. She has given up on her ambitions and has not grown much as a person. She has double standards, is somewhat hypocritical and rather petty.

Staying with her means more frustration, lowering your expectations of her and/or a major change in how to interact with her...because it doesn't look like she's going to change.
Finding someone else requires a lot of work; assets will need to be split, ties with extended family could deteriorate, and dating at age 50+ is troublesome.

This seems like an extention of Part 2. Stay as you are, forgive and forget because you've been together for so long. Or say "I've had enough!"
